The European has succeeded in branding football in such a way that it is fast becoming a global sport. And colonialism has contributed to it, every former colony watch games that is being played by their former colonial master.
For instance, many people in Nigeria watch EPL (English Premier League) because they can relate well with it. In francophone countries, lots of them watch French league more.
