Adventures, sports, blockchain - intro and ramblings

Hello dear Steemians! First of all, I feel honored to be part of this awesome community.

My name is Tanya, and I am here because for a few months now I’ve been living in the blockchain world, and I don't want to go back. It's like all my personal beliefs and philosophies merged together one September day here in Minsk, and here I am steeming, scoring, decentralizing myself and dreaming of a better world for us all. Call me an idealist (guilty) but I am sure that together we can make it happen no matter what lies ahead. Just think of Charlie Shrem and keep soldiering on. That's the blockchain m.o, and I absolutely love it!

I’ve always been a bit of a rebel, questioning my surroundings and imagining new, better, more exciting ways to live. It is no wonder that at age 15 the need to experience the "real" world turned into an urge so strong that I decided to leave my home in Minsk, Belarus, and move to California for a year. Then came 2 years of studies in Lithuania, then an internship and more studies in New York, then lots of reading and reflection while living in Kansas, then Belarus and my intro into the tech scene here, then 5 years in Arizona, then studies in Colombia, and, here I am back to Minsk 15 years later.

I’ve come full circle, and it feels right to be home after the epic adventure that had lasted half of my life. During those years, I had worked in the student exchange industry, ran an IT business with friends, promoted online businesses for friends, worked as a Grand Canyon guide, ran a successful Airbnb gig and spent 4 happy years working as an artisan bread baker in Northern Arizona. I learned a lot during those years. My most important realization can be summed up in a quotation by William J. Reilly: “Life really begins when you have discovered that you can do anything you want.” Simple. Beautiful.

Though I'm back to Minsk, my journey is far from over; it's only but the tip of the iceberg. To use the sports analogy, I was just warming up.

Speaking of, I am a huge sports fan. Love trail running with my dog in the morning, missing the thrills of outdoor climbing in Flagstaff, Arizona, enjoying my swimming sessions at the pool, always looking forward to my gym workouts. Love hitting up the Russian banya for recovery steam match where a bunch of runner ladies beat each other up with birch broomsticks and talk about races and bersonal bests. Growing up with an Olympic coach for a dad, sport is an essential part of my life. I'd rather die on a trail than in front of a TV.

I think this intro post sums up well why I’m part of the Scorum project. Knew I was coming back to Belarus for something special. Scorum certainly fits the profile. Together with the amazing team, we are dreaming of and working on decentralizing the sports media industry.
