An off-season NFL newsy-type post...

So.. it may be the off-season in the NFL but this is the biggest week of that off-season. The NFL Draft is Thursday night and it is usually the most anticipated night in the NFL after the Super Bowl and opening weekend. There have been countless mock-drafts by all of the so-called "experts" and not one single one of them has any more idea of what is going to happen than you or I do. I refuse to look at any mock drafts leading up to the actual draft because it is a waste of time and energy and all you will be is disappointed in the outcome. I instead choose to just be surprised the night of the draft, I enjoy it more and it is more fun for me that way. Today's NFL news is bits and pieces of moves and interesting tidbits leading up to the draft, the first one of which is a big trade between Seattle and Kansas City - Frank Clark DE of the Seahawks was traded to the Chiefs today for KC's 29th overall first-round draft choice in this year's draft along with their second round pick next year. Seattle and KC will also swap third-round picks this year as a result of the trade. This gives Seattle the 21st AND the 29th overall pick in the draft on Thursday, allowing them to go and get a replacement for Clark, while KC is replacing the loss of both Dee Ford and Justin Houston in the pass rush. Clark immediately signed a 5-year contract with the Chiefs for $105 million, but the addition of Clark to an already horrible defense from last year won't fill all the holes this defense has and I don't see it making a big difference and the Chiefs will need to go after defensive help in the draft.

In other news.. Cardinals DB Patrick Peterson was a no-show at voluntary offseason workouts in Arizona today and made an interesting post to his Instagram today

All the players in that screenshot are no longer with the team... Ill just leave that there and let you ponder on what may be going on in AZ... Oh and he deleted ALL references tot he AZ Cardinals on all of his social media as well.. soo.. hmmmm

With all of the rumors leading up to the draft of the Cards taking Kyler Murry #1 overall, Josh Rosen still showed for offseason workouts. It seems he isn't letting all the rumors affect how he approaches the coming season. For the record, I blame AZ coaching staff and rumor-leakers for causing this shit, and through it all Josh has been a pro and has proven to be a leader in that he is not going to change anything about his preparation to get ready for the season. He has been given a raw deal over this and if the Cards do indeed take Murray #1 overall... he needs to go to a team where he is actually wanted and the Cards should have to pay dearly for trading him.

Jonathan Stewart signed a one-day contract today with the Carolina Panthers and promptly retired. Great back and a class act in the league. Much luck to him in whatever the next chapter brings. As an on-again-off-again fan of the Bucs, I always hated when they faced that guy...

One other note to announce.. Robbie Gould, the veteran kicker of the 49ers has decided not to sign with the team, citing that he has decided he wants to play elsewhere next season. Sources cited that since his family still lives in Chicago where he played most of his career, he would rather be with a team that is closer to home.
