I make it a point to read as much sports content as I can. I can’t help it. In a lot of ways I am a sports junkie. Today I am watching Real Salt Lake and bemoaning that the Washington Capitals are out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
And why?
Well because I am a fan. Being from Utah I watch Real Salt Lake. In spite of the fact that they have won just 3 matches out of 12 this season and, well it really doesn’t look like that number is going up today as they trail on the road against the Seattle Sounders.
So why would you read a blog that will in a lot of cases cover mediocre teams? Well because chances are that unless you have a Tom Brady decal or think that Nick Saban might be the savior most of your teams are not going to win a title this year.
I will not be writing everything about my teams and for the most part I will try to avoid that. There is a lot to discuss in sports about things that are cool and things are broken. Sports can be improved for the fans and players. But they are also freaking cool.
The thing is that if you are anything like me you watch the big games. You will tune in for the NBA finals to see who wins the rubber match between Curry and Le Bron, but you watch the fans cheering loud in the bars for their home teams and you wish it were you. So do I.
So this is a blog written by a sports fan who is excited for BYU football in 98 days, who is confused by the Dodgers’ inability to get hits against lefties. Because you are the same way with your hope against reason that this is the year.
And why not?
