The Super Bowl is rapidly approaching and is usually one of the most sought after opportunists to advertise each year. :30 Second ads run for as much as $5 Million. And with Future Hall of Fame Quarterback, Tom Brady, back in the big game this year could be even better. But in a season that Roger Goodell and the NFL completely fumbled the National Anthem protests, they may have just made the biggest mistake of all.
The entire Public Relations and Marketing Departments for the NFL should be ashamed of themselves and even fired for this latest move. The largest Veterans group in the country, AMVETS, tried to purchase ad space in the Super Bowl. They have a simple and wonderful message for the millions of people that may be viewing the game: A Picture of an American Flag with the message #PleaseStand.
Somehow the pathetic people at the NFL find that message offensive. This is infuriating. Personally, my soon to be brother in law has been based overseas in some EXTREMELY DANGEROUS countries. They work their butts off and are in harms way constantly. When they do get some down time, they put on an NFL game. What an absolute slap in the face that they see players that are making more in one game than the brave men and women make in 2 years, refusing to stand for the flag they are fighting for.
I have had enough. How can a billion dollar league that has tied themselves to our military over the last decade do this? Let me know how the game goes. I will be reading, The Art of the Deal. What do you think about this story?!
