Tdownload.pnghis season they reaffirmed their status as the best club in history as they battled through a trophy laden year on the year to la Duodécima. Throughout the campaign, Zidane's team have broken records both for the club and the sport itself. Amongst those are the four titles in one season and the back-to-back Champions League title wins.

UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup, LaLiga and Champions League, in that order, were the trophies that the Whites lifted. It was the first time in 115 years that the club lifted four titles in a season. La Duodécima was a never before seen achievement in the current format of the competition: as the Whites won two consecutive Champions. League titles, this is also the first LaLiga and Champions League double for Real Madrid, after the club managed it in 1956/57 and 1957/58.

Unbeaten and high scoring

To win these titles, the Whites went on a sensational run. Between April 2016 and January 2017, they went 40 games without losing, beating the Spanish football record. In addition, they have gone an entire season scoring. With a total of 65 games finding the back of the net, Zidane's team surpassed the record of 61 that Bayern Munich set. Twenty of the 21 outfield players scored this season, something unheard of.

Kings of Europe

On the road to Cardiff, Real Madrid went on their best unbeaten run in the European Cup. The win over Atlético in the semi-final first leg meant 15 games unbeaten. Their record until that point was 11. The team were also top scorers in the Champions League, with 36 goals. This is the second best tally in the competition. Cristiano Ronaldo, top scorer for the fifth season in a row, scored the club's 500th goal in the Champions League.

Away records in LaLiga

The 33rd LaLiga title win was also accompanied by great records. With 106 goals scored, the Whites have gone eight campaigns as the only team to smash the 100-goal mark. The side’s home performance also deserves a special mention: with 58 goals, Zidane’s team established the best tally in the history of the competition. In addition, the 15 away wins constitute the second-best record of the club.
