Aaron Mckie - The Loyal Sidekick

in sports •  6 years ago

Superstars are usually the first mention for any success given to any sports' team in the universe. It doesn't matter the position, as long as the superstar is consistent in helping his or her team win games. But no matter the circumstances, superstars need help to. In comes the sidekick. When a superstar is hurt, foul trouble, suspended, etc the sidekick normally steps in and help the team compete for wins. They usually are capable of big games here and there when the team may need them. Aaron Mckie is a good example of a sidekick. For twelve NBA seaons, Mckie was a solid scorer and a good defender. He could play multiple positions (Point guard, Shooting guard and Small Forward). As a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, Aaron was an instant spark off the bench. Weather it was scoring or defending, Mckie was there to answer the call. In 2001, Aaron was the winner of the 6th Man of the Year award. In that same season, Mckie helped Allen Iverson and the 76ers reach the NBA Finals to face off against the eventually world champion Los Angeles Lakers. Nevertheless, click the video below for some of Mckie's NBA highlights. Be safe and hope you all enjoy!
