Dwight Howard is a heck of talent. He can run the floor well, finish strong around the basket, and is a solid defender. He has flaws as well but not last night. Howard scored 32 points and grabbed 30 rebounds. He is the second player to achieve this feat since 1982. Kevin Love was the previous player to do it (2010) and he congratulated Howard via Twitter. In 1982, the "Chairman of the Boards" (Moses Malone) had 38 points and 32 rebounds. Amazing numbers by the Hall of Famer. Not bad company for Dwight to be a part of I must say.
Howard's performance came in a game where the Hornets rallied from an 23 point deficit to beat the Brooklyn Nets. Kemba Walker spoke highly of Howard's performance. Walker said, "Never been part of something like that. Yeah it was crazy to see those kind of numbers and be a part of it". Howard (32 years old) is the first player 30 years old or older to achieve 30 points and 30 rebounds since the great Kareem Abdul Jabbar did it in 1978. Howard said, "I mean, that's great to be named with someone like Kareem. It's one of the guys I looked up to growing up, him and Wilt Chamberlain." Congrats to Howard on a great night and a big win for the Hornets.
