Let's talk about easy wins for a moment. An easy win would be for the 76ers to play Joel Embiid tonight against the Utah Jazz. I understand wanting to keep him out on the tail-end of back-to-back games, but this isn't that. Their last game was FRIDAY! (Which I was at). So why the rest?
The answer is a new term certainly aimed at pissing off Philly fans...load management.
Sounds like a load of shit to me. Embiid has proven to be the best center in the East, averaging 20 and 10 through nine games. He has his downsides, particularly in the turnovers category, but he is young and energetic. Mistakes will be made, and it's his job and Brett Browns to fix those problems as the season progresses.
So are you buying this load management garbage? I'm not. This organization has lied time and time again about how it is handling its players. from Embiid and Fultz and Simmons and even Okafor, this team is the opposite of transparent.
Brown says "it's a completely thought-out plan..." Bullshit. What medical team is recommending he sit out a game three days after his last one? Again, if it was a back-to-back I'd understand, but it's not.
This reeks of a Colangelo cover-up and it's a true shame that they will not let the big man shine and reach his full potential.
What do my fellow NBA fans think? Agree with my take or not?
