The fight is officially set for Aug 26th, which is shockingly early, and a shrewd move by Mayweather to limit any more chance of Mcgregor learning more about boxing between now and then.

A friend recently wanted to make a bet with me on the Mayweather vs. Mcgregor fight. My friend wants to bet in silver coins, I actually would prefer to bet in Steem. Silver is a great investment as it's severely undervalued at the moment but I think Steem actually has more potential value as the bubble of cryptos continues to expand.
I watch MMA fights from time to time but I am more a fan of boxing. I've seen several of Mcgregor's fights and have massive respect for him, his instincts and reflexes are amazing, a natural born fighter. But boxing is called "The sweet science" for a reason. It's a combat sport that inhibits you, it forces you only to throw certain kinds of punches where as MMA is more of a street fight. When you watch people fight in the streets, they grapple, they wrestle they kick and punch, this is the world of MMA. You never see people "boxing" in a street fight except in old movies. That's because boxing wasn't invented as a means of defending yourself, it was invented as a sport. MMA's techniques borrow from disciplines that are meant to teach you how to defend yourself should you need to fight in real life. That's why, if this fight between Mayweather vs. Mcgregor were to include elements of MMA, this fight would be over pretty quickly with Mcgregor winning easily. But I am sure Mayweather will insist this event be absolute boxing. In that case Mcgregor is in a world trouble.
Boxing is a different animal all together, boxers learn to take punishment in different ways than in other disciplines, this is why when most American football players try boxing they don't do very well, it's a certain kind of punishment that boxers endure that is very unique from any other sport, including MMA.
When I first saw Mcgregor fight the first thing that stood out for me is how he exposes his chin when exchanging punches, the first rule of defense in boxing is tuck in your chin. Mayweather must look at that and lick his chops.
Watch the Mcgregor vs Alvarez fight to see how much Mcgregor leaves his chin dangling out there when exchanging, he can get away with that in the MMA but that will definitely not work in boxing, especially when facing one of the greatest tacticians in the sport.
Mayweather is not a puncher, he's not a fighter, he is a pure boxer, he waits for people to make mistakes while fighting in an extremely defensive manner. Mcgregor will try and overpower him from the beginning, this is where Mayweather shines, taking a part an aggressor, looking for shots...
My belief is anyone can beat anyone at anything at anytime, so Mcgregor definitely has a very small chance, and many things have happened in the history of the world on small chances. But the chance Mcgregor defeats Mayweather in a pure boxing match is something like 1% in my opinion. But you never know, that's what makes this fight so exciting!

Thanks for posting this I called my brother to tell him and he said that he thinks its all about the money,100 million reasons why. Floyd will win and Conor has a punchers chance but if its fixed Conor loses and still makes out and retires like a boss!

Floyd's never felt Conor's power. I'm putting some cheddar on Conor, he's going to soften up Floyd's record for Lomachenko. If Conor doesn't break the streak Lomachenko will, so maybe you are right, it's fixed and all about the money.
I'm reminded of the scene in pulp fiction though, pride might fuck with Conor and he could launch Mayweather into the 3rd row with a "Fook dat guy!" and be the biggest thing ever.

I really do like and admire Conor McGregor's heart, but I think he's going to have his @$$ handed to him by one of the best boxers of all time. They'll make a good show of it, and they'll both make a ton of money but, technically, I can't see Conor beating Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match. Conor is going to have to KO Floyd, if he can get to him. We'll see...
