LOS ANGELES-In a bizarre turn of events, Kawhi Leonard applies for remote job with the Los Angeles Lakers. The current Spur has no intention of playing for the team during the regular season or playoffs. Kawhi was drawn to the remote job because it allowed him to work from home and stay in Texas, where the cost of living is cheaper.
Remote jobs are a recent trend and saving companies thousands of dollars. This job appealed to Kawhi because it allowed him to be absent from all interpersonal events, and prevent any further injuries.
According to CNBC, Kawhi joins a growing population of millennials that want to work remotely. Today 170 companies in the U.S operate 100% virtually, up from 26 in 2014, says FlexJobs, an online plaform speciailizing in remote and flexible employment.
Kawhi and his agent did not comment on how he plans on actually contributing to the team's starting line up from a remote location. Sources say Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality may be involved.
