Skateboarding as a sport can be very technical with tricks that take a lot of practice to learn, and then even after,. a lot of attempts to pull. For that reason capturing the moment can be quite important so why not have the right location and backdrop as well.
A professional skaters value or power is rated in part, on their media exposure. How many video parts are they getting, how much print? As skaters build their skills, someone on their crew becomes the designated photographer or videographer.
