The Games and Amusement Board (GAB) could possibly cancel the professional licensed by the stubborn Calvin Abueva of the Phoenix Fuel Masters.
According to GAB Chairman Abraham 'Baham' Mitra, the agency has been reviewing the investigation into Abueva's case, adding that the controversial players at the Inter-barangay tournament in Rizal who have failed to inform the agency.
The GAB is the government agency that oversees all professional sports in the country and is part of their mandate to license a pro athlete before it can play in the licensed league run by the GAB.
"Calvin (Abueva) clearly violated GAB rules when he played in 'lean outdoors'. It will end when we are investigating his first case and his new violations, and it will really affect the result. GAB can possibly revoke his license, "Mitra said in his visit to the Sports Talks of the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) on Thursday at the National Press Club in Intramuros.
Mitra informs that the GAB has restricted its September 2018 Resolution No. 2017-13 Series of 2017 'Requiring All Professional Athletes To Inform The Games and Amusement Board of The Amateur Tournament They Are Temporarily Participating In And The Duration Thereof'.
"For monitoring purposes, all professional athletes or players shall inform the GAB of the amateur tournaments or competitions they are temporarily participating in and the duration thereof. They shall continue to conduct themselves as professional athletes and observe the principles of sportsmanship and fair play.
"Conduct that is unbecoming of professional licensees of the Board shall be treated as actionable conduct and may serve as grounds for administrative disciplinary action before the Board," based on the GAB Resolution.

The pro league is currently serving the 'indefinite suspension' that the PBA Commissioner's Office has imposed on him after the intense pain and insults on import Terrence Jones in June.
"On his action against Jones, we talked with PBA Commissioner Willy Marcial and I told them if you do not suspect that the GAB will suspend," Mitra said.
He said GAB respects the PBA's internal decision on issues like Abueva, but he clarified that GAB has a separate power as a pro sports administrator.
"GAB is mandated to look after the welfare of the athletes. And we have the rights to revoke licensed of abusive players, "said Mitra.
In the GAB record, the last PBA player who was seized by the license was Rudy 'The Destroyer' District in 1999 after being assessed as jeopardizing the life of Jeffrey Cariaso.
