Spain needed two more hours to get to the FIBA Basketball World Cup finals held in China by defeating Australia, 95-88.
Two NBA stars Marc Gasol and Ricky Rubio joined forces to bring the team to the championship round.
Gasol had the NBA Rampors' 33 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Rubio had 19 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds and Victor Claver added nine points.
Australia's lead went up 11 points until Spain went down and they were beaten in the fourth quarter, 71-72.
Australia still had a chance of winning the game with 4.8 seconds left but Patty Mills did not enter the second free throw that led 71-71 in the first overtime.
The rival teams exchanged strong defense and offense in the first overtime until the score ended at 80-80 and they entered the second overtime.
Mills wasted 32 points for Australia, playing Spurs as a point guard.
Spain meanwhile beat Argentina after defeating France, 80-66.
