France's national basketball team is not expected to panic though the defending champion and team to beat USA will face off in the quarterfinals of the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
France head coach Vincent Collet said they knew the strongest team in the tournament would be the reason they would not give up until the final buzzer sounded.
Although the coach acknowledged that one of their problems was exhausting before the game at 7.00pm, it still ignored the French squad which was third in the rankings worldwide.
“We have a quarterfinal against the strongest team in the competition, but until proven otherwise, we are alive. It will be necessary to manage the fatigue of the travel in addition to that of the match whereas the Americans are already on the spot, but we will give everything to succeed in the impossible feat, ”Collet said.
Team USA head coach Gregg Popovich said they would try to implement a better defense against France.
According to observers, Team USA's defensive scheme is likely to be tested to the brink.
This is due to the serious challenge that France faces at both ends of the court, led by Rudy Gobert, the NBA's two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
Although Team USA is favored to win the clash later, it is hoped that the rivalry between the two powerhouse teams will be less.
