The season doesn't have an end date right now as they are 75% of the way through. They have to finish this season before thinking of the next as that is what has been decided as the tv revenue is too much to lose. Nine games is not a lot and can be finished within 6 weeks or less.

June was the cut off time but now the EURO 2020 has been moved to 2021 there is no time limit. I can see this happening after July which is expected to be the peak for Corona. Next season will just start later than normal and the players won't have a summer break.
