De La Salle University takes the W in the game against the University of Sto. Thomas, 80-79.

As a result, the Green Archers, currently in fifth place, will continue to compete in the Final Four Spot of the UAAP men's basketball tournament.

While DLSU had just nine points to score 80-71 at the 2:27 mark of the final period, Rhenz Abando suddenly dropped three points, which raised the Growling Tigers to 77.

Abando nearly hit the score on his 3-point attempt in the last 1.5 seconds of the game, but officials decided to count it as just 2 points due to the basketball player's footing.

Jamie Malonzo of the Taft-based squad recorded his career-high 23 points while Aljun Melecio contributed 18 points.

Two others from the Green Archers registered a double double with Justine Baltazar's 14 points and 11 rebounds and Brandon Bates's 10 points and 15 rebounds.

DLSU holds a 6-6 win-loss record while UST holds a 7-6 record.
