What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the rumor that the Toronto Raptors almost acquired Paul George and Russell Westbrook to make Kawhi Leonard stay.
Kawhi Leonard is a Clipper now as well as Paul George as we all know. For the Clippers to sign Leonard, he requested them to pair him with another superstar. The Clippers responded and gave Leonard what he wants as they successfully traded for Paul George. But before that, a lot of negotiations and discussions had occured. In fact, the Clippers are not the only ones that had the chance to land Paul George together with Kawhi Leonard.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Toronto Raptors tried to bring George and Russ to the Raptors in a trade that centered Pascal Siakam. They wanted to make him happy to make him stay by adding some of the top superstars. In an appearance on Sports Center, Woj discussed how the Raptors and the Thunder talks went down and nearly been completed.
It might have been a different league next season if that trade went through. The Eastern Conference would've had a dominant team like the Golden State Warriors was in the past seasons. It could've changed everything but thanks to Jerry West, the Eastern Conference are still pretty wide open and the West is still tight. It will be a very exciting season and I can't wait for it to start.
That is all for today folks! I would love to hear your thoughts about this article, so drop your comments now and let's have some basketball talk! :)
So sad my team has to rebuild again, or they will make the play-offs one more year and then rebuild.
They did not want to give up Siakam
