ANOTHER COUNTRY PULLS OUT OF SOUTH AFRCIANS SOCCER FRIENDLY

in sportstalk •  5 years ago

The South African Football Association (SAFA) have announced that Madagascar have canceled the friendly international against Bafana Bafana.

Madagacar’s cancellation follows after Zambia had taken the same decision based on the on-going xenophobic attacks that have hit South Africa over the past week.

In what is now a boycott against South African government's apparently casual efforts to aggressively wipe out the violence against foreigners in the Johannesburg metropole, SAFA announced Madagascar's decision via social media this afternoon.

The match was scheduled to take place at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening from 19:30.

“Breaking News: SAFA regrets to inform the public that the match between Bafana Bafana and Madagascar scheduled for this coming Saturday (7 September) has been called off after the visitors (Madagascar) decided to withdraw from the encounter,” SAFA stated.

It now looks unlikely that Bafana Bafana will be able to organize a plan C after Zambia and Madagascar’s pull-outs.
