Rafa Nadal won his 4th US Open final after defeating Daniil Medvedev in an epic 5 setter that lasted just short of 5 hours.
Nadal bt Medvedev 7-5, 6-3, 5-7, 4-6, 6-4
This is the Spaniard's 19th Grandslam title and he is just one behind Roger Federer!!
Nadal was cruising initially, winning the first two sets before his Russian opponent came back strongly. Medvedev won the next two sets to force the match to a decider. However, the top seed broke his opponent twice in the 5th set and managed to secure the win!!
