NBA Recap: Philadelphia Sixers vs Guangzhou Long-Lions | October 8, 2019 | NBA Preseason

in sportstalk •  5 years ago

The NBA Preseason already just began and some of the top teams already showcased their brand new talents like the Los Angeles Lakers led by the new duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis who defeated Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. In the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia 76ers also had a major change in their roster adding up all-star big man Al Horford. But that wasn't the highlight of their Preseason opener, it was Ben Simmons who just hits his first career three-pointer as a pro. But take note, this is just the preseason. But still, this is a great sign for Sixers fans. We might see plenty of those when the regular season begins.

Ben Simmons works early putting up some nice dunks and fancy dishes to take an early huge lead. There was great chemistry already and it's really good to see Al Horford with Joel Embiid on the floor together. This Sixers team is huge. With Ben Simmons at the point guard and Tobias Harris at small forward, it was a very huge lineup.

The play of the night was when Ben Simmons hits the three-pointer with only 3 seconds left in the first half. The crowd goes wild after Simmons hits the trey! It's a big thing for them because Ben Simmons is already a dominant player without shooting threes. And now that he can already hit those shots, this Sixers team will have a better shot at the title.

Stats:

Ben Simmons - 21 pts, 8 reb, 7 ast
Joel Embiid - 17 pts, 3 reb
Josh Richardson - 16 pts, 3 ast
Al Horford - 8 pts
