Enugu Rangers's Nnamdi Egbujuo has seen to it that they left Gabon with a precious away goal that has put the Flying Antelopes in good position to secure qualification.
Rangers qualified for the group stage of the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup as a result of a 2-1 loss to AS Pelican in the first leg of the first round of the Confederation Cup in Libreville on Saturday.
AS Pelican were the better team for a long time leading 2-0 before Egbujuo popped up with the all-important strike to drive home a lone goal which leaves Benedict Ugwu’s side in a good position ahead of the second leg at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on the 29th of September.
Rangers, Nigeria’s sole surving representatives in the competition were given a bye in the preliminary stage found and travelled to Libreville for the first leg of their encounter against AS Pelican who had squeezed through the preliminary round after seeing off Congolese side Maniema Union on penalties.
