PCB's first class tournament is to consider the Cairo Trophy' in two parts

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering conducting the first-class tournament Qualifying Trophy this year in the domestic season this year. The CB this year will host the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in two parts, with the aim of scrutinizing the players before the Test series against Sri Lanka and then giving the T20 players a place in the PSL Draft. The trophy will start from the second week of September, followed by the first four rounds followed by the National Twenty20 NT tournament will be held. After the National T20 tournament, the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy matches will be restored once again. The one-day tournament will be played after the first-class season. Sources say that the purpose of conducting four rounds of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is to give national selectors a chance to test long-format players ahead of the two-Test series in Sri Lanka and Then there will be a Twenty20 tournament in the interim so that the players of the Pakistan Super League will be included in their squad in time for the players who have performed in the national tournament.
