Where I live winter is long and cold. This year we had about six months of snow, wind, and ice. When spring finally arrives bringing sunshine and warmer temperatures - we rejoice! With the month of May comes Mother's Day. This year I made her a bouquet of fresh cut flowers from our yard, put them in an old salsa jar, and wrapped it in some tissue paper left over from Valentine's day (pictured above.) See! - Proof that sometimes good things do come free!
It's always a welcome sight when the first flowers start to bloom. The Crocuses (pictured below) come first, followed by the Daffodils, then the Tulips, Irises, and our favorite - the sweet smelling Lilacs.
Finally late spring is here and everything is in bloom (including my allergies.) However bittersweet, the best season for flowers is almost over and after a long cold winter soon we'll be complaining that it's too hot... Here comes summer! Three months of paradise is just around the corner... Talk at ya soon...
