The picture of birch that stands with green leaves and well-developed catkins is taken at Bømlo April 25 this year
Birch that stands with bare branches is from Andøya in Northern Norway and pictures are taken 3 days later April 28th.
As the pictures show, there is a big difference between the development of birch in these two places.
2nd picture is very interesting. Three different color of nature.

As far as I know, birch loves water. It is said that she drinks too much water and this inhibits the neighboring trees. But, perhaps, the excess water also negatively affects the birch. Everything is good in moderation.

A difference in latitude of 10 will give Northern Norway colder weather, therefore, spring is later.
