The Manchester united gaffer had singled out the player as a transfer target very early on in the transfer market. He had to drop the interest for a centre-back.
Manchester united was very weak in this season's summer transfer window as they could only secure one high profile transfer.
The main target was to sign a centre-back but none came much to Mourinho's frustration.
The club had been pursuing Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld but the club had dribbled their way out of negotiations and even tried to include Anthony Martial in the deal, something that United's would never agree too.
United had then turned to Barcelona's Yeri Mina but his agent's fee wasn't what Manchester United liked. The window closed and United didn't get their reinforcement for Centre-back.
Now, Mourinho will be left thinking if he would have continued pressing for the Juventus left back.
