COURTIOS EMERGED AS THE 2018 WORLD CUP BEST GOALKEEPER

Thibaut Courtois has been awarded the Golden Glove individual award as the best goalkeeper of the recently concluded Russia 2018 World Cup.

The Belgium shot stopper Courtois' impact was glaring throughout their stay in the tournament. His side were knocked out of the semifinals by France which saw them competing for the third place with England which ended in a 2-0 victory.

The Chelsea first goalkeeper was able to record clean sheets against Panama, then twice against England with an impressive performance in a 2-1 win over Brazil in the quarter final.

Following the announcement of the award, the Belgian took to his twitter page to flaunt that the award is one of the biggest individual awards a goalkeeper can ever get and how proud he feels.

Manuel Neuer of Germany got the honour in Brazil 2014 while other previous winners include Iker Casillas, Oliver Kahn, Michel Preud'homme, Gianluigi Buffon and Fabien Barthez.
