The former Argentina international Carlos Tevez advised Lionel Messi to remain with the Argentina national team and not think of retirement for now despite the messy World Cup campaign had by the south American nation.
The world cup was nothing to write home about for both Messi and the whole squad as the 2014 world cup first runners-up struggled to qualify from group stage and could not win any knockout match in Russia 2018.
Tevez seemed worried after the world cup, concerning the future of the five time Ballon d'Or winner Messi in the national team as he [Messi] once retired briefly after their 2016 loss to Chile in Copa America final.
"I think Messi should consider himself also his aim in international level. It is important he understands that he should not let frustration lead him into regrettable retirement. He must find comfort amidst the players, so he can do it." The former Manchester City striker Tevez told ESPN.
