A victory for Manchester City and a Draw for Liverpool against Everton has handed Pep Guardiola side the control of the league table. In the early weeks of last year’s December, it seemed that Liverpool were in control of the league with about Nine point advantage. It has always been a tradition in the premier league that a team topping the table as at December of a playing season with over six points eventually ends up winning the league. Liverpool was a point ahead of City before the match this Saturday as Manchester City beat Huddersfield 1-0 in an away game. City then top the table with just 2 points waiting for Liverpool’s showdown the next day.
Sunday class between Liverpool and Everton ended up in a 0-0 draw gifting Manchester City the top position with one point. Liverpool were sloppy in the game especially in front of goal failing to capitalize on their opportunities. With the premier leagues title in Cities sight, it’s unlikely they would be giving chances to let Liverpool back in at the Top.
Tottenham Hotspur on the other hand still maintain 3rd place in the league despite a draw against Arsenal who are now in the 5th place. Manchester United are in the 4th place just 2-points behind third place Tottenham. Chelsea are sixth on the Table, a point behind Arsenal with an outstanding match at hands.
