Force India's driver, Sergio Perez believes that Force India still has a chance to challenge for the fourth position on the 2018 Formula 1 standings.
His current ray of hope comes on the back of recent upgrades made by the team to their cars.
Force India had begun its 11th season in the F! on the backfoot as a result of correlation and rear-end stability issues.
However, it has now gone on to propel itself into the thick of the midfield struggles after making a series of updates and upgrades to their VJM11.
In the championship, Force India currently sits at sixth position, just behind Haas with only three points. They also have Renault above Haas with 21 points.
However, with recent back to back double points finishes, Perez has now gotten the encouragement he needs to aim for higher in the standings.
Perez noted that there was still several matches to go, about 11 more and so targeting fourth place was not yet out of their range.
Speaking ahead of the German Grand Prix coming up at the Hockenheim, he also noted that their major focus for the races there would be to have a clean weekend and go on to maximise their performance and stay ahead at the front of the midfield.
