Benzema, with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo is now the club's third captain. There are only two other players higher than he is in heirrachy at the club. These are Sergio Ramos and Marcelo
He's been pictured offering the young lads some leadership advice and it's reported that Vinicius Junior hasn't left his side since they began training a fortnight ago.
Benzema will go into the season knowing that it special one for him as he's never gone any season without Cristiano Ronaldo. They both arrived the Madrid capital in 2009 and it is the Portuguese that won all the shine during the period. This will be the season where he shines. Also, it will be his tenth season at club.
Last season wasn't so good for the Frenchman who only notched 12 goals all through the campaign.
He will be hoping to get everything right and establish his place in the heart of Real Madrid faithfuls.
