Real Madrid have been in the market for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. The early favorites were Neymar and Mbappe.
However, both players have committed future to the club and left Real Madrid looking to another player in England, Eden Hazard.
After the Belgian's showing at the world cup, his stakes grew high and Real began considering him as a serious replacement for the departed Ronaldo.
However, Real have someone who could fill in that gap. And Coach Lopetegui has discovered that. That player is Isco.
Isco has been a long time favorite of Lopetegui, a coach who has stood by the Spaniard despite the hard times he had undergone.
Speaking after La Roja's 6-1 victory over Argentina in March, a game which saw him score a hattrick, Isco said the coach has much confidence in him.
Now, that confidence seems to still hold in Real Madrid squad as the club is looking at stopping the pursuit of Hazard, who by the way is valued by Chelsea at around €200 million, and rely on Isco instead.
Also, not bringing in Hazard will give time for Asensio, who the Los Blancos outfit sold out James Rodriguez for, to develop his game.
