The England international has been given the number 10 shirt following the departure of Ibrahimovic.
Rashford has been handed the number 10 shirt in the new squad number for the friendly game against Bayern on Saturday.
The young Manchester United player was first seen in the number when he featured in United's game at the Alianz arena.
The number 10 jersey was formerly won by Ibrahimovic who now played his football for American LA Galaxy. Before then, club legend, Wayne Rooney wore the number for 10 years.
This could mean that the player is set for more crucial role this season. Manchester united have been boosted by the return of Marcus Rashford and Phil Jones who cut short their holidays to be with the team.
Rashford was initially given the number 39 by Lois Van Gaal when he broke into the squad. Mourinho gave him number 19 in 2016 and has now given the number 10.
The player joins the selected few academy graduates and to have worn number 10 since squad numbers came in voke in 1993.
