The Real Madrid outfit faces a run against time to land their goalkeeping target, Thibaut Courtois.
The blues outfit have agreed a deal rumored to be worth about £35 million. However, they won't be letting the Belgian leave unless they find a replacement goalie before the transfer window closes.
The Premier league transfer window closes on August 9 and Real Madrid will have to wait on Chelsea and hope that the London club finds a replacement for their goalkeeper on time.
Chelsea have been trying to prize away Everton's goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, who shone for the three lions at the world cup but Everton are adamant that he's not for sale.
Courtois though is adamant that he wants to leave London for Spain to be closer with his daughters and this could be the catalyst to trigger a quick transfer deal.
If the transfer window closes and a deal is not struck, Real Madrid still have Keylor Navas to fall back on.
They could even gain in getting the Belgian to sign on a free transfer if the deal extends to the summer of next season.
