David Luiz to get new contract
The Brazilian has seen his form soar again after tipping too a low point under then coach, Antonio Conte.
The former Paris Saint German defender had a fractious relationship with Conte which saw him start in just sixteen games under the manager. However, the player is at the centre of the fold again and has even won back the dressing room. Before Maurizio Sarri's debut season began, he assured Luiz of his place has made good his promise.
The club is to hand David Luiz a one-year contract extension. This is to reward the player for his contribution to the results of the team this season.
Chelsea have a policy in place which ensures that they don't give more than one year contract extension to players above 30 years. That's the only reason why Luiz's contract doesn't go beyond that as he's soon to be 32 years old.
Well deserved for the Brazilian.
