The Russia international Aleksandr Golovin has signed a five year contract with the France League 1 club Monaco from CSKA Moscow in Russia, a deal reported to be £30m, despite offers from Juventus and Chelsea for the 22 year old midfielder.
Golovin was impactful in the Russia team during the recently concluded World Cup having one goal and two assists as Russia astonishingly made it to quarterfinals before getting knocked out by Croatia in the semifinals.
The former CSKA Moscow player marketed himself in the world cup by appearing strong in every match throughout the world cup, where reports arose linking the Russian with a move to either Chelsea or Juventus.
"We are very delighted to have Aleksandr among us. Such a young talent that was prominent for his country in the world cup. We have had our eyes on him for a very long time." Vasilyev told the club's official website.
