The former Manchester United and Everton player, Wayne Rooney said he was scared of being forgotten on the bench at Everton hence he joined the United State club DC United.
The former England captain used a year at Everton out of his two year contract following a sensational return from Manchester United in 2017.
He was able to net ten times for The Blues in 31 English Premier League matches.
Rooney's exit from Everton is said to be a mutual agreement as the Englishman stated that the club is happy with his move to DC United and they have nothing against it.
"They literally let me know if there was an offer that I could go anywhere I like. It is no more a news that they now have a new coach who will have his own philosophy, he will obviously want to see a new set of players and leave some on the bench." He told BBC Sport.
While explaining his fluent relationship with Everton, the DC United player talked about his plan of becoming a football coach in the nearest future.
