When the manager arrived to coach the senior real Madrid's outfit, the club was in shambles. Having a lost ten games, they were already out of contention for the La Liga title. What was even worse was the injury crisis and the inability of the key players to make a difference when it mattered the most.
Therefore Julen Lopetegui was sacked, and Santiago Solari was brought in from the youth academy. It hasn't all been rosy, yet we have to commend the manager for daring to do what some wouldn't do. Out of the 19 games, he has played, they have won fourteen of them, drawn one and lost four. So even though the injury crisis continues and the teams keep conceding some useless goals, things are improving.

One thing I like about the manager is his ability to make crucial decisions at the right time. Deciding to bring in youth players from the lower division is a plus especially with the decision to use Vinicius, the player who has shown that he could make the difference even in big games. Now real Madrid is showing positive intent, especially with the dominant display the other day from Luka Modric in the match against Sevilla. So even as other players begin to return from injury, you can count on Solari to do the right thing when it's needed. Also, though the results may not always go their way, there's that ray of hope.
Even though the team is not currently playing the best football, after all, it is the achievement that counts at the end.
