The 2018 world cup has been moving great. It’s been a very entertaining thus far. Everyone wants to talk about it. This includes females that did not really care about club side football. Amazingly, these women sit down to watch the match with their boyfriends and their husbands. That is the power of the world cup.

The competition just concluded its knockout (round of sixteen) stage. The games were not predictable.
The knock out stage was so stiff that of the 8 games, 3 were decided by penalty shoot-out. For a game to resort into penalties, it means that the both teams have done the best that they could, yet no winner emerged even after the thirty minutes extra time.
Think about it: 6 games were played, 3 were decided by penalties, it only explains how stiff and unpredictable the competition is which makes it interesting.

The next level of the completion is the quarter final stage which will begin on the 6th of July. The schedule is as follows:
Uruguay vs France
Brazil vs Belgium
Sweden vs England
Russia vs Croatia
Trying to conclude on the winner just by the name of the team will be making a big mistake. For instance, we can say that with the presence of Cavini and Suarez, Uruguay will win France but we mustn’t forget about people like Mbappe (who we can say kicked Argentina out of the world cup) and Pogba. On the other hand, if we also say that France will win, it will be like a slight on Uruguay who knocked out Portugal from the competition with C. Ronaldo playing full time.
I said all these to say that the competition is still opened and very stiff. Enjoy it and just don’t depend too much on your predictions.
