On the 14th of June, a drug tester had made a surprise visit to the Florida home of star tennis player, Serena Williams.
However, Williams was unavoidably absent as revealed by the player’s spokesperson on Thursday.
According to reports from the U.S Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), Williams had already been tested on three different occasions since this year.
Kelly Bush Novak, publicist for Williams was writing in a response to a report made on the Deadspin website which made it known that a USADA office had visited her home seeking to test the player again for drugs outside the allotted daily window.
The 36 year old Williams is one of several many athletes in the international testing pool. They are all required to let the agency know their whereabouts for a one-hour period of their choice on a daily basis, whether competing or not.
Testers are however also allowed to visit athletes home unannounced out of the allotted one hour daily window.
I hope she is not penalized though.
