Aguirre who was formerly heading the Mexico Squad as their boss has now been chosen to lead the Egyptian Pharaohs to the 2018 qualifying campaign in preparation for the 2022 Qatar World Cup Tournament. Also, he was the former Atletico Madrid Boss and though it was meant to be Thierry Henry to fill that post, he was chosen. According to the former Zamelek goalkeeper, Nader El-Sayed, Henry, world star and France and Arsenal top player was in the run to head that post of replacing Hector Cuper as he had been engaged in talks in London with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).

However, with the fact he had met them, the EFA still went forward to choose Aguirre to fill in Cuper’s position after he left his position in June following the Russia 2018 World Cup Tournament and to lead the squad to 2022 World Cup. On Thursday, Aguirre will be presented in a new conference as the new boss by the EFA. On several occasions, Aguirre has led his home squad, Mexico to two tournaments in 2002 and 2010 so World Cup Tournaments isn’t a new team for him.
