FIFA stamps fine for Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri

In the match between Serbia and Switzerland, just at the fifth minute, Aleksandar Mitrovic of Serbia had the opportunity to deliver the opening goal for his country. However, in the second half Swiss player Granit Xhaka’s also had his chance and let loose a long range and stunning shot which stormed into the goalpost making them to be at equalizing level with Serbia.

Finally, when they had dragged on through out the second half and the 90th minute had arrived, Shaqiri made his point when he got the opportunity and lashed out a deafening shot into the goal to send his team a goal above their opponents. The Swiss had a great victory and this brought them to second place behind the Brazilians in their Group, E. Now, they have one more game to feature in and a total of four points as they hope to be victorious in their next match.

During the celebration of their goals, the duo had their celebrations by imitating the image of Albania's symbol with their hands which is a symbol of a double headed eagle. Granit Xhaka parents were of the Kosovan-Albanian part and for demonstrating against the communist Yogoslavia Rule in Kosovo, his father was arrested and put in a prison for three and a half years.
The province Kosovo was a former province of Serbia and it went further to declared itself as an independent nation in the year, 2008 but regardless to that, tensions still remain high between the two of the nations as Serbia does not wish and wouldn't agree to recognize Kosovo as independent.
Also, Shaqiri was born too in Kosovo and if one would take a good look at his right boot, you would see that he had printed the flag of Kosovo there in readiness for their match against Switzerland. Shaqiri, winger for Stoke City also used the same celebration that his countryman used and the FIFA officials condemned their inordinate actions by stating openly that the duo would have their punishment for their actions during the celebrations as that was a sign of stating their minds politically.
