Hi there,
Shortly, after I made the journey to the splinterlands about 5 weeks ago, I started participating in tournaments.
These tournaments have been a great way through which I learn some strategies from the big players as well as figure out some important or very useful weapons.
I have participated in many tournaments all altogether but I have only been successfully twice.
- My first success came in a tournament hosted by @battlegames in which I came out third.
This success never meant a lot to me because there were very few participants, many of which were noobs like myself :)
- Today, I got my second success in an alpha only tournament in which I came out second.
This is a huge success for me because all my opponents are playing at a higher league and have a pretty fat collection of weapons.
I am currently at silver 1 and faced opponents from gold 1 to diamond 1.
- I felt I was on top of my game at the start of the tournament and started feeling the heat only at the quarter final when I had to face @byzantinist
I have fresh memories of my first ever encounter with this player as I learned how to better setup my life weapons the hard way lol subsequent encounters have made me known this player to be very strategic. So, I was conscious of what to expect.
It was a tough one but I managed to beat this player in three battles just like I beat him/her yesterday in another tournament 😂

- Next up in the semis was @mydays I had never faced this player before. So, I was much calmer and composed while setting up my teams and in the end, it was an easy win.

- To the finals yeaaahh. Seeing it was @cranium waiting for me and he was on a 100% win rate, I knew I had no chance. Still, I felt I had nothing to lose. I see this dude winning most tournaments in which he participates. So, I felt it was more of a challenge for me to make a name for myself :) @cranium setup so well that I could not snatch a victory in 3 battles, no one could in 11 battles. So? 😂
Congratulations @cranium

A very fat collection 😒
What I Learned
I lost to Elemental Phoenix (legendary fire splinter weapon) in my first battle against @byzantinist and third battle against @cranium
I lost to Frost Giant (legendary water splinter weapon) in my second battle against @cranium
I lost to Selenia Sky (legendary dragon summoner) in my first battle against @cranium. We had the same team setup but @cranium had the edge due to the additional range attack provided by selenia sky.
Conclusion
I do not have any of these legendary weapons that I lost to. I do not even have an alpha legendary weapon. These cards are very expensive and not something I can afford. Even if I have to get one or two of them from packs, it is still a burden to level them up. So, I only lost to a very rich @cranium :)
Thank you for your time and have a great day ahead!

Big congrats to you :) I have not played. I was thinking of selling the cards. Do you win STEEM or anything for this?

I got 5 steem for this win and it's shown on the post.
If you wish to sell your cards, you can list them in the market.
I would have loved to maybe buy the cards but right now, I'm not buying cards because of the extremely low prices of steem.

Yeah, I definitely agree to this. Me pointing collections is just as a result of the excitement. I saw myself as the underdog since you all play in higher leagues and have vast experience :)
