In yesterdays update on #SPUD4STEEM i decided to include a statement around eligibility for winning prizes,
https://steemit.com/spud4steem/@kiwiscanfly/july-1st-mark-it-down-in-your-diary
more fine print
Also please remember this is a #steemexclusive competition and people posting on similar chains are not eligible sorry :)
The reason for that statement is due to this competition being about powering up steem power on this blockchain:), i am personally not interested in other similar blockchains and are here to promote steemit solely- plain & simple
On discord i got a message from a user who said
I saw your post last week about the SPUD, and I've decided to participate this July 1. However, I checked your blog today to see if there was any update about it, and yes I saw an update...
...and a shocker!
You wrote that those who post on similar chain will not be eligible
I really wish and plead that you reconsider this.
Some people are still weighing their options to see where they really will have impact before making a choice of where to go all in. I'm one of those. I don't want to lose on both sides.
That being said, I have even decided to trade my hives to get steem for power up on that SPUD day.
I sincerely plead that you consider me (and maybe there are some others in my same situation) and remove that clause from the conditions, so that we can also show our support for steem, and take a firm stand here
so my question for @sponsors and steemit inc is - what do you think?
it would be good to get some sponsor views and that of @steemitblog
@xpilar
@reflektor
@hingsten
@bippe
@steemcurator01
@ciska
@kiwi-crypto
@steem-supporter
@stephenkendal
@steemitblog
What does everyone think?
I was peeling Spuds for dinner tonight and found this massive one LOL, i am cooking Lamb roast since i had today off work :) - check out my Lamb...mmmmmmm!!
Both pictures are spuds from my kitchen

Hi Kiwi! Good discussion.
The Steemexclusivity is just a difficult one. I also have zero interest in similar blockchains, so I am biased and would go for full exclusivity, but.
I also know users that crosspost, and it is pretty much the same as curating them. Vote for those who only post here, and support the ones that go FULL Steem. Or also give attention to the ones that post their content elsewhere. If we don't support, we likely lose those.
If posters post in their blog on steemit: "First published on Hive", I never vote, but if users post the same content elsewhere, and just do it because they live in a bad situation and see this as an opportunity, I blink an eye. The small users who need this to support their family didn't choose to be in this situation.
Positive behavior needs to be rewarded and we need to let the users know that we care of them. Those who are on the fence, just need an extra push. They put people on blacklists that show support to Steem, let us be smart and not put labels on people. Nobody likes that. I get often the response that we are the friendly chain, lets keep it that way. Most people don't like the fight anyway.
It is our responsibility to take care of the good and the less fortunate ones. And persuade the ones who are on the fence in a positive way.
So I vote for ALL users are eligible.

It is a very good question, but personally I think you should make it completely open for anyone to participate.
I am a big fan of Steem Exclusive Blogs as they show a commitment to Steem, however what we should try not to encourage is alienating anyone wishing to use other protocols.
I am sure we would all love everyone on Steem just to use Steem, but in reality, we should let everyone be totally free to do what they want.
All we can do, is let the Steem Community decide via the Steem voting protocol.
Happy to go either way and will support the consensus of the other Sponsors.
Keep up the great work.
Stephen

The Steemit Team accepts that people post on other blockchains.
In terms of when we are giving extra support through delegations etc we very much look towards those who are not also active on other similar blockchains.
For SPUD4STEEM our view would be to accept anyone powering up as long as they are not using that Steem Power in any way to the detriment of other users of Steem.
Thank you for opening up this discussion.
