The fourth edition of 3FM Serious Request was organized in The Hague, at the city Square " het Plein". The reason for this location was the celebration of the 70-year anniversary of the Red Cross' headquarters in The Hague. This time the announcements already took place in August and the charity cause was the realisation of better drinking water supplies in many places worldwide. De Dutch government participated again and promised to double the donations for this cause.
Also in 2007 a lot 3FM radio DJ's applied to be in the glass house, abstaining from food for 7 days. The public voted for Michiel Veenstra, Rob Stenders and Gerard Ekdom to do the honors this year:
This time it was Prince Willem-Alexander (who is now our king) that opened the event and locked up the three DJ's. The total amount funded in 2007 was € 5.249.466,-, including the 2.6 million euro's as promised by the Dutch government.
A highlight this year was Coen Swijnenberg, who visited all the glass houses in Europe participating in the fundraiser at The Hague in the Netherlands, Leuven in Belgium and Geneva in Switzerland.
The theme song in 2007 for Serious Request became Let's Dance to Joy Division, from The Wombats by popular demand.
