There was a recent power outage at Samsung's NAND flash manufacturing unit. This power shortage destroyed up to 3.5% of world's NAND flash chips.

As we know, the NAND flash memory, popularly known as SSD is something that most of us have in our gaming RIGs and these drives make our computing experience, well, I should say as painful as possible.

There is a shortage of NAND flash storage in the world, that means it IS a matter to be concerned about.

The power outage occurred on 9th March and lasted for about 30 minutes, the report says that about 50,000 to 60,000 wafers with V-NAND flash memory were damaged, which represents 11% of Samsung's monthly output.

Hopefully, this power shortage should not affect the prices of the SSD's. Also, this power outage should not Delay the price drop of other devices that use NAND-Flash memory.
