IAAF World U18 Championships, Nairobi edition was a success despite US, Britain and Canada skipping the event.

The just concluded IAAF World Under 18 championships took place from the 12th to the 16th July with the games attracting the largest crowd in the history of WU18 Championships despite the US pulling out citing security concerns. This did not deter Kenyans and the rest of the world from participating and having a good time in Nairobi while at it.

Rumor has it that nobody who came to spectate or compete in the games suffered any loss of items or any other kind of hostility from the locals who at times could become more passionate about local teams hence causing havoc.I guess they wanted to prove something! They all cozed up to foreigners and even could be seen all smiles posing for pictures with them. This kind of hospitality created an enormous wave on tweeter with may tweets praising the locals and the iaaf for maintaining its stand.

I believe that this time round the locals(KENYANS) wanted to prove the Brits,Americans and even the Canadians that they were wrong in their judgement. And that the world can still spin even without their consent/presence.
Tweeter went crazy during the event as people posted to share their experiences.

Very impressive building. Wow, that would look good anywhere. And it's amazing how sports can break barriers and overcome silly politics.

Yeah that for sure is the beauty of sports.
