The current healthcare system is fragmented and difficult to navigate. This can make things difficult for everyone involved in the system, from patients to physicians, to nurses, to insurance providers. Technological innovation can drive better outcomes for patients in the healthcare space. And the blockchain is set to change the way individuals interact with the healthcare system. SSOT Health is a platform designed to help patients get more out of their medical data. Right now, patients have very little control over their medical data, from how it is used to where it is sent. The SSOT Health platform plans to change that through decentralization without a trust-based system.

Healthcare Data Is Siloed

Have you ever changed family doctors? Have you ever needed your past doctor to send over medical documents? If so, then you know how cumbersome and frustrating the process of sending and receiving healthcare data is. Right now, personal healthcare is siloed and stored in different EHR systems. This makes it extremely difficult for patients to take their full medical history with them as they visit different doctors or medical facilities. With SSOT Health, patients own their health data, as it is tied to a Patient Global ID. Each time the patient interacts with the healthcare system, their data is then stored in a patient authorized distributed system.

Current Data Security Is Poor

There have been a number of significant data security miscues in the healthcare space under traditional systems. These systems are vulnerable to hackers, and critical patient data has been lost before. The centralization of traditional systems makes them a target and puts the healthcare data of patients at risk. SSOT Health makes security a priority. By using blockchain technology and a distributed ledger system on the Ethereum platform, SSOT Health can offer patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies stronger security than they are currently receiving under traditional systems.

SSOT Health Will Allow Patients To Own Their Data

Unfortunately, EHR system providers are allowed to monetize patient data under traditional systems. This data belongs to patients, but they cannot monetize it in the way that data system providers can. SSOT aims to change that through distributed data monetization. Medical data under SSOT Health is owned by patients, which allows them to make their own decisions regarding the monetization of their medical data. This change will give patients more power over their healthcare experience and could increase trust in the healthcare system overall.

Right now, SSOT Health is working on a campaign (https://bountyhive.io/join/SSOT%20Health) to increase awareness of their platform. Ultimately, SSOT health aims to serve all stakeholders in the medical industry, including insurance companies. In fact, SSOT has built an artificial intelligence algorithm in order to help companies handle the complexity of insurance claims. The platform has built another AI algorithm to help pharmacies and drug manufacturers in the supply chain process. SSOT Health is an interesting project that could truly change the healthcare space for the better. A more efficient process for patients will allow them to put more trust into medical professionals.
