It was the first day in school and all the newly admitted students were happy. Joel was soo happy to be a student of the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka Nigeria.

Joel was from a very wealthy family who could get everything he needed at his beck and call. Before leaving for school, his parents admonished him to be serious with his studies and to avoid bad friends.

Life in the university was fun for Joel. He was free to do whatever pleases him. Joel partied almost all night and hardly attended lectures.

His academic performances became very poor. Lecturers and friends advised him to be serious in school but still, he refused.

The university has a policy of withdrawing students with very poor academic performance. This made students to study hard and strive for excellency.

It was time for the exams and all plans by Joel to sort the lecturers for good grades failed. The results came out and he failed woefully.

At the end of the session, Joel was withdrawn from school and all plea by him for re-addmision failed. Then it dawned on him that if he had known, he would have taken his studies seriously.
