STEEMIT: FINANCIAL EYE OPENER

Hi Steemians, i am very excited about what i will be sharing with you. I pray it inspires and further encourage you to increase your commitment to the growth and development of this great community.

As a young man,i have been very determined to be financially independent. This determination to be "my own man" has taken me through several paths from being an employee to being self-employed until i got admission into the university. I began this journey immediately i completed Secondary school,i wanted to be able to get some basic needs without having to disturb my parents. I took up my first job with Airtel ng ,from there i moved onto working as a dry cleaner but i had to leave after three months to work as a cleaner at a Computer Institute. All this move was because i was searching for a suitable jib that could afford me a certain level of financial independence. After awhile i started a Paper bag business,i would use old magazines and construct into Paper bags and sell to supermarkets,malls,retail shops,etc. However,this business did not seem to be working out well so i stopped and then ventured into the recharge card business. From the money i saved from the Paper bag business,i bought a big umbrella,plastic table and chair. I did this business till i got admission into the University. Due to the hectic schedule of school,i did not do any form of business until Ponzy scheme came along. I invested in it,gained well but also lost some monies too.
In my fourth year and final year at the University,i started another business. It was kind of a test run of the business i will be setting up this year,a Snackery!
I went from room to room in the hostel marketing my products,it was really and awesome experience because i learnt alot that will help me . However,i had to stop because i wanted to take the business to the next level but i couldn't do this because i needed a certain level of financing. So i decided to get a job which i would do for a couple of months till i was able to raise enough money that could finance the business atleast to start before i start looking for investors. I finally got a job as a Teacher at one of the big schools in this town,i started work by September.

When i started work,i was in for a shock. Remember i got this job so i could raise money to take my business to the next level but this was not to be so,as i discovered sadly that the salary i was going to be receiving was no where close to my expectations. My transportation for One month was more than half of the salary,nonetheless i pressed on hoping for the best . I worked for four months and had nothing to show for it as savings.

By January 2018 i joined the Steemit community inspired by the likes of @samstickkz @xpressng @peewills .
I did my introductory post and behold after 7 days i received twice the amount i worked for a whole month for.
I was happy and sad altogether, i was happy because i knew things were about to change for me financially. I was also sad because i realised i had been wasting my time all the while. I wake up daily by 5am,leave for work by 6:30am and am there till 4pm or 5pm. By the time i gey home am exhausted and just have to rest for the next day,and so i ran for four months and received less than what Steemit paid me for few hours online. Since that day i took up the beautiful of this community to preach to all and sundry.
I really want to thank Sir @ned for the amazing idea of the Steemit community.
Steemit has brought me financial power and also believe with that power,Havilah snackery will be a reality this year.
